SMART is an independent not for profit (053-669-NPO) public benefit organization (PBO 930023958) that aims to inform policy development and reduce alcohol- and drug-related harms to individuals, families and communities. Through providing expertise and quality information on alcohol and drug use, promoting effective responses, undertaking research, encouraging informed debate, advising on policy making and best practice; and disseminating this across treatment, the criminal justice system and prevention and education services; and to improve the quality and effectiveness of its own services through continual evaluation and innovation.
